Manual Lymphatic Drainage Applied to Face

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage?

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (M.L.D.) is a gentle, rhythmic form of bodywork designed to support the body’s natural lymphatic system and encourage healthy fluid movement throughout the body.

Using light, precise movements, sessions are intended to help reduce swelling, support recovery, calm the nervous system, and promote overall well-being. M.L.D. is commonly used for post-surgical recovery, inflammation, stress reduction, and general circulatory support.

Benefits of M.L.D.

  • Reduces swelling and fluid retention

  • Supports post-surgery recovery

  • Encourages healthy circulation and lymph flow

  • Helps relieve feelings of heaviness or bloating

  • Can support chronic sinus congestion and headaches

  • Promotes relaxation and nervous system regulation

  • May help reduce inflammation and physical discomfort

  • Gentle and supportive for sensitive or recovering bodies

What to Expect During a Session

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a deeply gentle and relaxing treatment that feels very different from traditional massage.

Rather than deep pressure or muscle work, the Vodder method uses light, rhythmic movements on the skin designed to encourage healthy lymph flow and support the body’s natural recovery processes.

Sessions are performed without oils or lotions and focus on stimulating the superficial lymphatic vessels just beneath the skin. Many clients describe the experience as calming, grounding, and surprisingly effective despite the light touch.

You may leave feeling lighter, less congested, deeply relaxed, or with a noticeable reduction in swelling and tension.
